New Year’s Day in Japan

Filed under: Hair ornaments — rtecec @ 9:16:20

A new year is around the corner.  Many Japanese enjoy celebrating Christmas in these days:  But still, most Japanese seem to celebrate the New Year’s Day more than Christmas; looking back the old year to renew your aim for the coming year.  We usually get together with families and friends, eat traditional new year foods, visit shrines to make wishes for the new year, read and write new year greeting cards, and so on.  It’s nothing loud, but rather quiet. We used to wear kimono, Japanese traditional wear, on the new year’s day.

Kanzashi is a hair ornament which goes with Kimono.  In these days, it is worn with casual wear as well.  Some kanzashis are very simple and some are designed with very sophisticated art works.  You can take a look at all different kinds of Kanzashi as well as Kimono at Yahoo Japan Auction and Shopping.  Please take a look at Japanese online service.
