On 3rd of March, we celebrate Japanese Doll Festival
as a Girl’s Day event in Japan.
Now a day, we celebrate this day for
appreciating health and happiness of children,
especially girls, and hoping their good futures.
For this Girl’s Day,
we display Japanese ‘Hina-Dolls’,
a man and a female doll as a pair, dressing Kimono,
and representing Emperor and Empress.
There are so many different kinds of Hina-Dolls.
A simple one comes with a pair of dolls in front of
folding golden screen,
a pair of lamp stands on both sides,
and maybe a pair of plum vases.
A complete set comes with all of above plus
6 more platforms,
with different characters on each platform.
Each of these characters has a different meanings.
For those who are interested in Hina-Dolls,
